A new EVP for the Australian Future Submarine Program

Lilian Brayle will join Naval Group on 31 May

Lilian Brayle will join Naval Group on 31 May as Executive Vice-President for the Australian Future Submarine Program. His significant experience in managing international industrial projects, particularly in the Defence sector in France and Australia, will contribute to the success of the Australian Future Submarine Program. Lilian Brayle will be a member of Naval Group’s Executive Committee.

For the past five years, Naval Group has been fully committed to working with the Commonwealth of Australia for the development of an Australian sovereign submarine capability and the production in Australia of twelve regionally superior Attack-class oceanic submarines.

Lilian Brayle brings his experience in the management of large-scale international programs and his knowledge of Australia. He will be in charge of managing the teams in France and in Australia to deliver the program on cost and on schedule, and to engage the Australian supply chain to deliver Naval Group’s commitment to spend at least 60% of the contract value in Australia.

The new Head of Program will have the support of all Naval Group teams in France and Australia, and in particular of John Davis, CEO and Deputy Head of the program and David Peever, Chairman of Naval Group Australia’s board.

Biography

Lilian Brayle, a dual citizen of France and Australia, 53 years old, is a graduate of INSA Lyon and holds a Master's degree in international business. He started his career in 1991 in Safran Group, world leader in aeronautical equipment and engines, where he held various responsibilities until 2011. Between 2002 and 2008 he was based in Sydney, in charge of creating a global and integrated network of support and services for customers. In 2005, he was appointed Managing Director of Turbomeca & Microturbo Australia Pty Limited. Back in France, he became Head of Messier-Dowty's customer services and led the integration with Messier-Bugatti's services activities. He became Executive Vice-President Customer Support for the Group, which became Safran Landing Gears.

Lilian Brayle joined Airbus Group in 2011 to head up support and services for ATR, a Franco-Italian regional aviation company. In 2015, he was appointed Head of In-Service Support for the new A400M European military transport aircraft. He defined and deployed the support strategy for this major program to contribute to the operational availability of the aircraft. In 2019, he joined Nexter Group as Head of Support and Customer Services for Nexter Systems.

On 31 May, he will take over the executive management of the Australian Future Submarine Program for Naval Group.
