3/ With « Orange Drone Guardian », Orange Business plunges into Defense…

As the number of civilian drones continues to grow and their malicious uses multiply, Orange Business announces the launch of Orange Drone Guardian, an innovative and scalable Anti-Drone Fight (ADF) solution, in « as a Service » mode.

Nassima Auvray, Director of Defense & Security at Orange Business, said at the opening: “I am proud to announce the launch of the first offer of the Defense & Security Department, « Orange Drone Guardian ». This solution, pioneered in France and Europe, meets the challenges of protecting sensitive sites of our customers: sovereign infrastructure, incremental and open model, all proposed 'as a Service'. All the power of this solution lies in our capacity for innovation and our multidisciplinary expertise”.

The launch of Orange Drone Guardian illustrates the ambition of the Defense and Security Department of Orange Business, less than a year after its creation: to use all the digital infrastructure and expertise of the Orange group to bring sovereign solutions of the next generation.

Orange Drone Guardian can detect, identify and classify intrusive drones in low-altitude airspace, anywhere in France, with an extension capability in Europe. It meets the security needs of critical infrastructure operators of vital importance (OIV), operators of essential services (OSE), organizers of major events and public institutions.

The features of “Orange Drone Guardian”

It is a pioneering and secure solution that builds on Orange's unique telecom and digital infrastructure, as well as its proven capabilities in terms of a trusted business model.

● Orange Business's sovereign infrastructure includes:

o secure, resilient and end-to-end connectivity managed by Orange on the national territory, from its networks to their operations,

o a trusted cloud platform, Cloud Avenue SecNum, qualified SecNumCloud 3.2 by ANSSI,

o a secure monitoring center in France, operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by experts who are used to consolidating and processing data from the field in real time.

● The national network of 19,700 TOTEM sites, the Orange TowerCo, which makes its high points (passive towers that support antennas) available as strategic supports for detection sensors: their detection range varies from 8 to 20kms depending on the environment. This territorial capillarity allows to extend the scope of the surveillance and to improve the quality of the detection, without each client having to deploy and maintain its own infrastructure.

● Detection technology (sensors and Command & Control software - C2), which allows to locate, identify and classify drones, including in urban and disturbed environments.

The “Orange Drone Guardian” anti-drone offer

A first « turnkey » anti-drone offer – augmented by AI and scalable to integrate future sensors or new 5G radio sensing technologies – is offered in the form of a subscription, which marks a major evolution in the way to approach the anti-drone fight:

● Ease of access: organizations benefit from real-time detection information, without heavy hardware investment.

● Operational agility: the solution adapts to the specific contexts of each client (industrial sites, logistics platforms, ports, airports, major events, dense urban areas, etc.).

● Technological scalability: Orange Drone Guardian's open architecture enables the integration of additional software bricks and new sensors, especially the radio sensing capabilities offered by 5G networks.

● Innovation: the use of artificial intelligence technologies and digital twins will enrich the modeling and analysis of data from sensors.

This offer will undoubtedly and quickly interest companies in the defense supply chain, sites under the sovereign, such as the services responsible for their security, such as the National Gendarmerie for example. AE
