Interview of Mikkel Drucker - CEO at Guardsix

SDBR News: Is the change of name from Logpoint to Guardsix just a marketing operation or a new strategic positioning of the company? Why this name “Guardsix”?

Mikkel Drucker: The transition from Logpoint to Guardsix is far more than a rebranding exercise. It reflects a profound evolution of our company, our mission, and the role we want to play in the cybersecurity ecosystem.

Over the years, Logpoint established itself as a trusted European SIEM and cybersecurity platform provider. But the market has evolved dramatically. Cybersecurity today is no longer just about collecting and analysing logs. Organizations need intelligent, proactive, and integrated security operations capable of anticipating threats, responding faster, and supporting increasingly complex digital environments.

The name “Guardsix” embodies this new ambition. “Guard” represents protection - which is at the core of what we do every day. “Six” comes from the military term “got your six”, used by pilots to indicate that someone is protecting your back (the six o’clock position). It signals trust, partnership, and vigilance.

Together, the name expresses our commitment to always having our customers’ ‘Six’ - standing beside you, protecting what matters most, and acting as your closest ally in cybersecurity.

This new identity also marks our strategic positioning as a broader cybersecurity platform company, combining SIEM, SOAR, threat detection and automation into a unified vision. We remain deeply rooted in Europe, but with a stronger international ambition and a clearer message to the market.

Ultimately, Guardsix represents the next chapter of our growth: more innovation, more intelligence, and more operational value for our customers.

SDBR News: What is Guardsix's job today ?

Mikkel Drucker: Guardsix helps organizations detect and investigate in cyber threats efficiently and with confidence.

Our mission is to simplify cybersecurity operations while increasing their effectiveness. Today, security teams face an overwhelming number of alerts, increasingly sophisticated attacks, and a shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals. Guardsix addresses these challenges by providing a modern, intelligent, and highly automated security operations platform.

Concretely, we deliver solutions covering:

  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)

  • Security orchestration and automated response (SOAR)

  • Threat detection and investigation

  • Compliance and reporting

What differentiates our approach is our focus on operational usability. We believe cybersecurity technology should empower analysts instead of overwhelming them. Our platform is designed to reduce complexity, accelerate decision-making, and improve security outcomes.

We work with organizations across critical sectors including government, aerospace & defence industry, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and managed security service providers (MSSPs). In a world where cyber threats are now a business risk and a geopolitical issue, our role is to help organizations remain resilient and maintain trust in their digital operations.

SDBR News: Cybersecurity is an extremely competitive field. What makes you different and what is your competitive advantage?

Mikkel Drucker: At Guardsix, we believe cybersecurity should give organizations more control, not less. That starts with digital sovereignty. Our customers want to know where their data is, who controls it, and how their security operations are managed. That’s why we support on-premise, hybrid, and controlled cloud deployments, without forcing customers into a hyperscaler-dependent model.

Another major challenge in the market today is cost predictability. Too many organizations are struggling with SIEM platforms where pricing scales aggressively with data ingestion. We take a different approach — one that helps MSSPs and enterprises scale their security operations in a far more sustainable and predictable way.

What also differentiates Guardsix is the combination of SIEM and NDR capabilities. Security teams need visibility not only from logs, but also across network activity and behavioural analytics. By bringing these capabilities together, we help customers detect threats earlier and improve visibility into lateral movement and advanced attacks.

We also focus heavily on operational simplicity. Security teams are under constant pressure, often with limited resources. Our goal is to reduce complexity, accelerate investigations, and deliver faster time-to-value compared to traditional SIEM environments.

From an architectural perspective, we believe flexibility matters. Customers should be able to integrate Guardsix into heterogeneous environments without being locked into a proprietary ecosystem. That openness is especially important for MSSPs and organizations operating across hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures.

Ultimately, Guardsix positions itself as more than just a cybersecurity vendor. We aim to be a trusted ally for organizations looking for a modern, sovereign, and pragmatic approach to cyber defence.

SDBR News: What does Guardsix offer the defence industry in particular?

Mikkel Drucker: The conversation around cyber defence in the defence and aerospace sectors often focuses on major players such as Thales or Airbus, etc. And rightly so — protecting critical systems at that level is essential but resilience does not stop at the top.

The real question is: how mature is the entire supply chain? Are subcontractors aligned with frameworks like NIS2? Are they equipped to detect and recover from advanced threats?
Because in practice, attackers rarely go through the front door — they exploit the weakest link.

At Guardsix, we support both ends of the spectrum.

We are fully capable of contributing to the cyber defence of large industrial groups. But just as importantly, we help their partners and subcontractors elevate their security posture, meet regulatory expectations, and integrate into a stronger collective defence model.

This is not theoretical. We are already engaged in highly sensitive environments, including collaborations within the space sector and with governmental stakeholders in active threat contexts.

Cybersecurity is no longer a perimeter issue — it is an ecosystem challenge and strengthening that ecosystem is where we focus.

SDBR News: France is very attached to the notion of sovereignty in the digital field. In this context, how do you position Guardsix on the French market?

Mikkel Drucker: France has been one of the leading voices in Europe regarding digital sovereignty, and we fully understand and support this approach.

Today, cybersecurity is not only a technical matter — it is also a strategic and geopolitical issue. Organizations and governments increasingly want to know where their data is processed, under which jurisdiction technologies operate, and how strategic digital infrastructures are protected.

As a European cybersecurity company, Guardsix is naturally well positioned in this context. We share the same values regarding data protection, regulatory compliance, transparency, and strategic autonomy.

For the French market specifically, we see strong alignment around several priorities:

  • data sovereignty,

  • operational resilience,

  • trusted partnerships,

  • and European technological independence.

At the same time, sovereignty should not mean isolation. French organizations need world-class cybersecurity capabilities combined with trusted governance models. Our ambition is precisely to deliver both.

We are investing in partnerships, local presence, and ecosystem collaboration in France because we believe the country plays a central role in shaping the future of European cybersecurity.

More broadly, we believe Europe has an opportunity to build a stronger and more independent cybersecurity ecosystem, and Guardsix intends to be one of the key contributors to that vision.
